Founded by industry veterans James DeNaut, and Patrick English, the firm was established to provide capital and tailored advisory solutions for businesses offering innovative and disruptive tech-enabled solutions. We invest in businesses that bring medicine to the doorstep, provide high-quality, affordable concierge healthcare by simplifying the healthcare journey and in founders who break barriers and deploy solutions in spatial audio, defense and agentic AI to streamline and enhance workflows.

Managing Partners

Jim DeNaut Managing Partner

Jim DeNaut is a Managing Partner and co-founder of Sea Court Capital. With over 30 years of global investment banking experience at Nomura, Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley, Jim DeNaut’s expertise in M&A, capital markets, cross-border transactions and asset management has made him one of Wall Street’s most trusted advisors. A former member of the Board of Directors of Nomura Holding America, Inc., Jim served as President and Chief Executive Officer, Senior Managing Director and Head of International Investment Banking during his twelve years at Nomura Securities International. Prior to Nomura, Jim served as Senior Managing Director, Head of Global Banking Americas, and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking Americas at Deutsche Bank Securities. Earlier in his career, Jim was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Morgan Stanley where he led the Energy group and landmark transactions including the IPO of Conoco, the mergers of BP with Amoco, BP with ARCO, Chevron with Texaco, and the merger that created ConocoPhillips.

Jim earned a BA from Northwestern University, an MBA from Harvard Business School, and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He currently serves as a Trustee of Northwestern University, a Board Member of Research Corporation for Science Advancement (RCSA) and is the Chairman of Youth About Business (YAB).

Patrick English Managing Partner

Patrick English is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Sea Court Capital. Patrick has spent more than two decades in private equity, venture capital, and in the global capital markets. He was a former Partner and COO at Three Mountain Capital, a discretionary global macro hedge fund, and in debt capital markets at CIB and Merrill Lynch where he executed inaugural senior secured debt offerings for Blackstone, Oaktree, and Cantor Fitzgerald. Earlier in his career he was in Institutional Equities at Morgan Stanley.

Patrick earned a BA from Boston College and an MBA from Duke University. He is a board member of U.S. Veterinary REIT.

Steve Quamme Managing Partner

Steve Quamme is a Managing Partner of Sea Court Capital. Steve founded and led two successful asset management firms: Cartica Management and Breeden Partners with peak AUM of over $3 billion and $2 billion, respectively. Steve has extensive experience across investment management, operations, fundraising, fund formation, trading, compliance,and finance. Jim has raised $3 billion from leading institutional investors globally. Earlier in his career, Steve co-founded Milestone Merchant Partners, a merchant bank acquired by Houlihan Lokey, and began his career as an M&A attorney at Baker Botts. He has served on boards of companies listed on the NYSE, NASDAQ, LSE, and Mexican Stock Exchange, including audit committee roles.

Steve earned a BA from Northwestern University and a JD from Northwestern University School of Law. He is a member of the Northwestern University Law Board.

Alexis Glick Managing Partner

Alexis Glick is a Managing Partner of Sea Court Capital. For nearly three decades Alexis has successfully built businesses and led teams in finance, media, and private equity. Alexis led the $2 billion sale of Nature Energy, the world’s largest biomethane producer to Shell, and has been a board member, advisor, and operator for private equity-backed businesses led by Goldman Sachs, Carlyle, Davidson Kempner, and Warburg Pincus. She helped build and launch the Fox Business Network for News Corp and ran Morgan Stanley’s NYSE business, where her team executed corporate buybacks, IPOs, and secondary offerings. Prior to that, she led institutional equity coverage for the banks, broker dealers, government agencies and insurers for Morgan Stanley. A frequent guest contributor for major national news-outlets, Alexis speaks regularly on the state of the economy.

Alexis earned a BA from Columbia University where she was a John Jay Award recipient. She is a Kauffman Fellow and a board member of GAMCO, Mario Gabelli’s Investment Management Firm, and Schreiber Foods.

Ed Scott Operating Partner

With over 25 years’ experience in technology, private-equity and data-driven transformation, Scott has built and managed high-growth companies globally, including as CEO of ElectrifAi, a leading machine learning and AI firm serving Fortune 500 clients. Ed’s background includes early private equity work at Apollo, successful investments in multi-billion-dollar tech companies like Akamai and Interxion, and senior roles at major investment firms. He is known for repositioning companies for innovation and growth, turning complex data into actionable insights, and driving operational excellence through AI and automation. 

Ed earned a BA in History from Columbia College and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he received second year honors.

Luming Wang Operating Partner

Luming Wang is an accomplished technologist and leader with 30 years of experience building advanced data science and AI platforms. He has held CTO roles at Bellegreen and ElectrifAi, led deep learning and data teams at industry bellwethers; Millennium, Uber, Microsoft, and Amazon, and has a proven track record of delivering practical, high-impact machine learning solutions for major enterprises. His expertise in AI, big data, and enterprise technology, combined with his academic leadership in machine learning, makes him exceptionally well-suited to drive Finstreet’s innovation, data strategy, and technology leadership.

Luming is a graduate of the University of Science and Technology of China and has a Masters of Information Services and AI.

Joe Gerber Operating Partner

Known for his leadership in venture capital and innovation at the intersection of design, technology, and emerging markets, Gerber is recognized for his expertise in design thinking. As Managing Director and General Partner of IDEO CoLab Ventures, Gerber has led investments in early-stage startups focused on distributed web technologies, blockchain, and emerging digital infrastructure. Prior to IDEO, he worked as a Senior Product Manager at Fidelity Investments and held research positions at Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Miravant Pharmaceuticals.

Joe earned a BS in Biology at UC Santa Barbara and an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
